剪毛的時間要計劃好，盡量選天氣暖和的時候剪毛，要在上午剪毛，下午太晚了盡量不要剪，上午剪了毛后，到晚上這段時間讓適應。剪毛以后給兔子喝一點溫水，吃點抗應激的藥物。遇到冷空氣的時候盡量不要剪毛， 秋天長的時間長點對兔子對兔毛質量都有好處。如果需要剪毛，可以采取剪被部留腹部，也可以剪腹部留背部的辦法，還可以剪左邊留右邊，或者剪右邊留左邊。等另一半兔毛長一點再剪留下的一半，這種剪毛的方法特別適合用電推子剪毛，因為用電推子剪毛剪的太短，把兔子身上的毛全部剪光，兔子受不了。這樣剪毛稍微麻煩一點，可是對兔子健康很有好處。是在大冷到來以前把兔毛剪掉，冷的時候不用剪毛，冷的天氣，時間就是那一段， 秋天的兔毛長點對兔子沒有影響。
